The Big Green Egg Half Moon convEGGtor for the 2XL is made of Big Green Egg ceramic.

Paired with the 1-piece convEGGtor basket, it forms an intermediate layer for two-zone cooking, leaving the other half open to cook without worrying about burning. Two Half Moon convEGGtors placed against each other work as a full convection shield, creating what Big Green Egg calls a burn-free zone stone that maximizes cooking surface.

A convEGGtor's smaller diameter can let food near the edges burn, making this half-moon setup suited to cooking large volumes at lower temperatures, such as chicken wings. In the 5-piece EGGspander Kit, the middle level holds just one Half convEGGtor Stone because of its size.
