Kingsman's IDV34 is a direct vent gas insert built to convert an existing wood burning fireplace to gas heat. A dual burner sits over a decorative ash bed with glowing embers, set behind ceramic glass that radiates heat into the room. A heat activated blower with variable speed control moves warm air out, and the valve system - millivolt, IPI PF1, or Proflame 2 IPI depending on model - keeps the insert working through a power outage.
